From the East by Worshipful Master Rodolfo Alquero
NEW BEGINNING
Welcome, Masonic New Year 2007. It is with fervent hope that this year would be a memorable and productive one for our Lodge. With the Blessing of the Great Architect of the Universe, we pray that our wishes would all come true and with God’s Divine Assistance may He give us Health, Wisdom and Peace in our lives.
As the new Master of the Lodge I kindly enjoin you to the participation and support in the indoor as well as the outdoor activities of our Lodge. Your care and concern are valuable tools to the attainment of the goals and existence of our Lodge. May Brotherly Love and Affection melt down the barriers that prevent us straying from our obligations because as Brothers we are to aid, support and protect each other.
We should reflect back on the commonality of which we passed thru: our Three Degrees of Masonry. Gently remind ourselves of all the obligations we are sworn to abide by.
Let us be reminded when we were asked three several times, “ Being in the condition of darkness, what do you most desire?”, and we answered LIGHT. Let our Travels from darkness to Light be for the benefit of our Worshipful Lodge. As now that we are endowed with that Light. Let it shine and pierce the darkness to show the WAY for our less informed and errant Brothers.
Let us not limit the message of Masonry be confined within the four walls of a Lodge but spread it outside to reach the attentive ears of Masons and non-Masons alike ever remembering the worshipful Master’s message when we had our third Degree that we were Good Men and when we became Masons we have become Better Men. Retain, I entreat you of that goodness of Heart, that Purity of Intention and that Love of Virtue of which I think you now possessed.
Let us all come together, meet on the Level and do our utmost for the benefit of the Members and the Lodge and let Brotherly Love prevail, Peace and Harmony reign.
Brethren,
Our Christmas Dinner was attended by 35 Brothers and Sisters and was catered by Ranch Catering. Thanks to the efforts of Bros. Jim Desquitado and Fil Garcia for coordinating this event and to Brother Richardboy Alonzo for providing the music.
Our December Stated Meeting approved several critical resolutions: the Stated Meeting Dinner cost will be increased to $12 per person and the added $2.00 will go directly to our funds or offsetting the costs of unfulfilled reservations. The 2007 proposed Budget was approved. The Dues Card will be a total of $ 104 for the ensuing Masonic Year of 2008. The $ 75.00 fee stays and the per capita of $29.00 be added on top of it..
On December 19, Brother Leo Corpuz delivered his satisfactory proficiency in the Fellow Craft lecture and Brother Simeon Alonzo (younger Brother of our Junior Steward Richardboy Alonzo) was conferred the Sublime Degree of Master Mason. Congratulations to both. It was a Past Masters’ Night and we had ample participants from our Lodge as well as other Lodges. To these Brothers present and answered the call of the Lodge despite the upcoming busy schedules of the Holiday Seasons, I sincerely thank and applaud you and may you continue doing so and invite back our dormant Brothers.
