Black Mountain Lodge Beacon Feb. 2007

From the East by Worshipful Master Rodolfo Alquero

Brethren:
January has been a busy month for our Lodge. First, I would like to thank the presence and participation of our Officers and Members as well as our Brethren-Guests from other Lodges in our Rituals and other Lodge’s activities. Secondly, please join me in congratulating the following Brethren:
  1. Brother Leo Corpuz upon his conferral of the Sublime Degree of Master Mason on January 2nd. It was a Military Night and a lot of our Members as well as from other Lodges attended in their Military Uniforms.
  2. Brother Jay Baluyut upon his conferral of the Sublime Degree of Master Mason on January 16th.
  3. Brother Mario Adamos upon his conferral of the Sublime Degree of Master Mason on January 23rd.
  4. Brother Ramon N, our Webmaster, upon his conferral of the Sublime Degree of Master Mason on January 30th.
  5. Brother Simeon Alonzo on his installation as Marshal of our Lodge during our Stated Meeting on January 9th.
Mr. Ronaldo Mones, Odon Misola and Freddie Molina were satisfactorily balloted on to receive the degrees of Masonry in our Lodge during our Stated Meeting on January 9th.
STATED MEETINGS
Stated Meetings which are held every second Tuesday of the Month are the proper venues to discuss and conduct the business of running our Lodge. They are very important sessions where critical issues concerning our Lodge and Members are resolved. Also, this is where the new Candidates applications are read and balloted on. Missing attendance to these Meetings when your availability is not restricted by family, work priorities or medical problems is not consistent to the item no. 18 of our investigation question and I quote “ Do you expect to attend Lodge regularly?” it is therefore required that we should give time to attend these important Meetings. A few Officers and Members who regularly attend these is not the best foot so we can move forward. As Members, it is your incumbent duty to share in the burdens and responsibilities in the management of MY and YOUR Lodge.
FEBRUARY- The Month of Love

Valentine’s Day, falling on the 14th of February is often called the Month of Love. This is the day when Sweethearts, Husbands and Wives express or re-affirm their love to one another. On the same token, I would like to enjoin everybody to re-affirm our Brotherly Love to our Brethren and enduring care and commitment to Lodge. Just like in a relationship, problems that may jeopardize its purpose should be resolved as quickly as possible. We cannot just impose our subjective ways in any manner but as people do not have the same likes and dislikes, compromise should be applied. Errant Brothers should be whispered Good Counsel and in the most friendly manner, endeavor to bring about a reformation. Bruised relationships should be patched up cordially and the bonding restored. In applying the tenet of Brotherly Love, we are to aid, protect and support each other. Again just like in a romantic relationship, we are to cultivate and cherish the Love and make it bloom and purposeful as in raising a family.

Fraternally,
Rodolfo ‘Rudy’ Alquero
Worshipful Master
